Our Call to the Franciscan Way

Consider this invitation to walk the Franciscan way with us as vowed religious or associates.

We invite you to join us in our desire to respond to the Franciscan call to a deeper gospel life in the 21st century; and to meet the needs of the people of God, specially those who are impoverished, oppressed, and victims of unjust structures.

We believe that Sisters and Associates, through reciprocal supportive relationships in PRAYER and SERVICE to the people of God, can make the presence of Jesus in the world a more vibrant reality.

As we move through the world on our journey to God, we seek to comprehend the reality of God's presence in all of creation.

We come to understand God's presence more fully as we reflect on the life of Jesus. As with Francis and Mother Magdalen, the depth of our response to God grows as we integrate His values into our lives.

Realizing that we grow into this ideal during our entire life, the period of initial formation is a time of learning and intensified study, and of commitment to the Gospel. With Francis, Clare, and Mother Magdalen as models, a woman coming into the Congregation today seeks to understand the totality of Jesus' response to God.

Input and experience help to intensify a woman's dependence on God, her response in prayer, her knowledge of scripture and theology, her interdependence with the sisters in community, her solidarity with the powerless and her call to minister to those in need, especially those whose dignity as persons is violated. This preparation endeavors to assist each woman as she realizes her personal response to God within the context of the Franciscan way of life in our congregation. Freely she seeks to respond in love as Francis did, "This is what I wish this is what I seek this is what I long to do with all my heart."
